At a time when good news and celebration is needed, we are excited to announce the expansion of our community-driven movement, Design For A Difference (DFAD), with DFAD: Home is Where The Heart Is, a contest that awards community heroes with free flooring and expert advice for a complete room makeover.
Although a lot of the focus has been on first responders and nurses, a community hero can be anyone you think has made a difference in your hometown or surrounding area during these difficult times. We want to recognize everyday heroes who continue to give back to their community.
Nominate A Community Hero
Are you unsure of what an everyday community hero looks like? These heroes can be the mother who homeschooled four children while working from home and doing it all with a smile, the coffee shop worker that was there every morning to provide you that much-needed cup of caffeine, the high school student who organized and delivered meals to those who could not leave their homes or provide for themselves, the elderly woman who bought material to sew masks for health care workers who were running out of PPE, or anyone else who made a difference to you and your community.
To nominate your hero all you need to do is fill out the nomination form here. Entries must include the nominee’s name and email address, a photo of the nominee, and an essay on the extraordinary work this community hero displayed during the Covid-19 pandemic.
There are five potential prize winners. The grand prize includes up to $10,000 in free flooring and one-on-one design consultation with a leading design expert. The contest may provide flooring, and a design consultation around lighting fixtures, paint, furnishings, and other decorative items. In addition, four regional prizes each valued at $2500 will be awarded to winners in the Northeast, Midwest, South, and West.
Do you know a community hero that you would like to nominate? Be sure to submit your nomination to enter them to win!
